Daniela Neman

Founder

“My Iranian parents, who spoiled me with stews perfumed with dried limes, saffron and pomegranate, taught me the value of quality food. My religion, which mandates a weekly Friday night dinner with loved ones, taught me that sharing meals builds close connections. My heart (and stomach) told me to become a nutritionist by trade. And only recently did I realize I was an Acrobat all along – juggling the tools I learned in the
home, kitchen, classroom, and work place to guide others in finding their own version of “Kale, Cookies and Quinoa”, or in other words, a healthy balance.”

A Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist in New York City, Daniela began her path at NYU where she studied Nutrition and Dietetics, followed by completion of her Dietetic Internship at North Shore/LIJ Hospital. Daniela began her career at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where she worked as a clinical dietitian while attaining her Board Certification in Oncology Nutrition. During this time, she was the Nutritionist to the 92nd Street Y’s May Center, where she led group nutrition sessions and provided weight loss counseling and nutrition therapy to members. Currently, in addition to maintaining her private practice, Daniela works for Optum as an onsite Nutritionist and Wellness Specialist for Columbia University employees. “Upon meeting with new clients, my first intention is to understand the person sitting in
front of me as a whole. I want to know everything- what time they wake up, how they get to work, if they are feeling stressed, any medical issues, nutritional beliefs and practices, and what elicited them to walk into my office that day. Once I know the whole story, I can guide them in defining nutritional goals, creating a sustainable plan of action, and in essence, establishing their personal balancing act.”
